Since then, I have bought at least 10 Zingo games — I have given them to all my children’s friends and I always keep a few around to give out for birthday gifts. Everyone loves this game.
This preschooler variation of the old favorite Bingo is a real winner.
Zingo cards have a 3 by 3 grid that shows pictures and words. Cards have a yellow side (easier, for younger youngsters) and a red side for the odler ones. The plastic game piece dispenser is well-designed and fun to use. Players shout out to claim a piece, which is then placed over the appropriate square on the player’s card. There are several play variations.
Excellent game for the younger set, and fun for older children and adults as well.
My son got this for his fourth birthday and still plays with it regularly (he’s now over ThinkFun Zingo toys 5). He’d just started to read when he got it, and the game helped him add many new words to his vocabulary – but more importantly, it was fun! His friends loved it so much that several of them asked for their own sets as gifts. We play until everyone wins and gets to shout Zingo!, and the youngsters help each other get there. And my son even plays it sometimes by himself. It’s really wonderful, very very fun, and would be great for youngsters from about 3 to at least 6.
This figure looks a lot like Chris Hemsworth, and is a great excellent sculpt. I got it as a collector’s item, so I haven’t taken it out of the package however it looks pretty durable. Because no item listing Anyplace lists the size of the figure, I’ll state that this figure is 7 inches tall and looks definitely good, capturing Hemsworth’s likeness nicely, at the same time as his awesome costume.
Now, the figure comes with two items — his hammer, which he can only hold in his ideal hand, plus a massive circular base that’s meant to be joined with a piece that comes using the Loki figure. Each pieces are pointless separately (I do not have the Loki figure, but I assume it is useless without Thor’s base). Because I’ve no plans on finding the Loki figure, the significant circular base that came with this is just a significant disc.
Anyway, this toy is not for children. You’ll find some sharp edges and also the articulation borders on a joke. The knees barely bend, the ankles barely move, and arms hardly rotate too. It is possible to pretty significantly display him as he is out of the box and that’s about it. I do not believe children will get significantly mileage out of him.
So, if this is just for display – I advocate it! If it is meant for play, get among the small ones you’ll obtain in a toy shop or convenience shop. As a collector, one of the most frustrating items you’ll be able to experience is opening a really good searching, detailed, well-sculpted figure, just to have a hand break off mainly because the joint was too tight. I’m no veteran to figures and collecting, and I’ve witnessed this all too usually, specifically with Diamond merchandise. Star Trek TNG figures had been horrible with hands breaking off mainly because the joints had been too tight at the same time. Even becoming highly careful to gradually loosen them for posing–SNAP! Disappointing. Otherwise a terrific figure, but if you snap off a hand ideal out of the package… boo. Grandson received this from Amazon on his birthday–delivered on time as promised. He said that Captain America is good and is extremely happy with this super hero. I haven’t observed the toy as it was delivered directly to the birthday boy. It looks like the Mattel Movie Masters line that gave us some reasonably good to good Dark Knight action figures (and 1 Bat-Pod) for adult collectors to appreciate is back with a vengeance for the upcoming “Green Lantern” motion picture, and I’m so glad. I collected several of the Dark Knight figures, and I was disappointed that no matching scale Jonah Hex figures came out to add to my group, but now there is a ray of hope that a Superman Movie Masters figure could be on the horizon (using the next Supes movie) thanks to these new Green Lantern releases! I’ve just picked up the starring Lantern figure, Hal Jordan, bearing an excellent likeness to hilarious star Ryan Reynolds, and I’m so psyched about it! The figure looks wonderful and movie accurate, nicely detailed with metallic green paint plus a lantern accessory. This figure is very articulated and also comes with a stand plus a piece of Parallax. The 14 pieces necessary to build the Parallax figure imply there are plenty of much more Green Lantern Movie Masters figures to come! Presently, only 3 character figures are pictured on the back of the package, but I’ve observed several other people here on Amazon (package states 11 figures are necessary to complete Parallax). My overall assessment of this Hal Jordon Green Lantern figure is excellent, excellent, excellent. Love the likeness, paint, detail, articulation, every little thing! I specifically really like that he is in scale with my Dark Knight figs (exactly where may be the Thor figure to scale with my present Marvel movie collection of 6 inchers?!!! Argh!). Nevertheless, will I definitely attempt to collect much more of this line? I do not know. I definitely do not have Thor Hero Action Figure toys a aim of owning the entire Lantern Corps ideal now, and I haven’t observed the film and do not know who all appears. Sinestro could be cool to have although, but I’d prefer him wearing something other than green…
Anyway, here’s hoping we see much more Movie Masters figures for other DC comics films (It is possible to backtrack some past ones and Tv shows if you’d like; Wonder Woman, Superman the Movie, and so on…). I’d like to build a DC movie-based display to match the significant 1 I already have for Marvel, and I wish they’d get back on track with those at the same time. Match the scale of the old X-Men movie figs please, toy-making powers that be! You nonetheless want to give us 6 inch figures of movie versions of Elektra, Kitty Pryde, Thor, Gambit, Silver Surfer, and I want me a Captain America too, for future reference. Get on those and I’ll be satisfied! Oh, and do not forget Howard the Duck, ha.
